Steve co-founded The Dolins Group with his father Leonard in June 1993. Born and raised on the North Shore, he attended Glenbrook North High School followed by attending the University of Illinois –Champaign where he double majored in Finance and Accounting.

Steve passed the CPA exam on his first attempt in May 1992. In 1993, Steve left his job at JMB Realty where he was doing financial reporting to work with his father, whom he calls a “powerhouse accountant.” He knew that he wanted to use his finance and accounting experience to serve his own clients.

From the beginning, Steve had a vision of what a CPA firm should be like. He is committed to quality work, personal service and high standards. His primary focus is on complete client satisfaction and going the extra mile to build and maintain long term relationships with each of his clients while ensuring that every one of them receives the highest standard of professional and personalized service based on their individual needs.

Steve’s philosophy is “if our clients are successful, we are successful.” He also gives back to the community as he volunteers his time as the Treasurer of the Northbrook Baseball Association, School District 30 Foundation, and Lew Blond Memorial.

In 2016, Steve was appointed to the Illinois Gaming Board. The Illinois Gaming Board is a five-member board, appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate. The Board administers a regulatory and tax collection system for riverboat casino gambling and video gaming in Illinois.

Steve and his wife Jenny have three children and reside in Northbrook. He enjoys traveling with family and friends and going to sporting events, especially Cubs and Bulls. He has also been to every single major league stadium to watch a baseball game.
